Children’s bestsellers, like other bestsellers, are characterized by great stories and lovable characters. Some of the children’s bestsellers of all time include classics such as The Little Prince, Winnie-The-Pooh, The Hobbit and Catcher in the Rye as well as old favorites like the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series. There are books on bestseller lists that cater to every age from the toddler to the young adult.
Some of the bestselling children’s authors of all-time like Enid Blyton, Dr. Seuss, Beatrix Potter and Lewis Carroll, have written multiple books over many years. These books are beloved over generations and it is not rare to find parents who grew up reading about the escapades of Noddy or Alice, reading out the same stories to their child. These books have also been translated into many languages making them bestsellers across the globe.
Current bestsellers in children’s fiction include the Harry Potter series and the Artemis Fowl series. J K Rowlings book about a young wizard and his adventures at the school for wizards has entranced children of all ages as well as adults. The Harry Potter books have revived an interest in reading amongst children and it is not surprising that every one of the books in the series finds itself on the top of bestseller lists, sometimes even before they come out! The Artemis Fowl books closely rival the Harry Potter books in their popularity. As a result of these two series, a lot of interest has also been generated in the fantasy genre with classics by authors like J R R Tolkein and Terry Pratchett once again making it to the bestseller lists.
